FAQ

Questions before you preview.

Quick answers about how Showcase works, what buyers receive, and how your artwork is handled.

What is Showcase?

Showcase is an iPhone app for creating true-scale augmented reality previews of artwork, so buyers can see how a piece feels in a real space before committing.

Who is Showcase for?

Showcase is designed for artists, galleries, designers, advisors, and collectors who need a clearer way to understand artwork scale and presence.

Do buyers need the app to view a preview?

Showcase uses Apple-native sharing and preview tools wherever possible. The exact buyer experience may depend on how the file or preview is shared.

What does the Share screen do?

The Share screen lets you export or send a generated preview using Apple’s built-in Share Sheet. You decide where the file goes and who receives it.

Does Showcase upload my artwork?

Version 1.0 is designed around local device workflows. Imported artwork is used to create previews and is not uploaded to Showcase Software LLC.

Where is my project data stored?

Artwork and project information are stored locally on your device unless a future cloud feature is explicitly introduced.

What information can I add to an artwork?

You can add dimensions and optional details such as title, artist, medium, year, price, and notes, depending on the app version and workflow.

How accurate is the scale?

Scale depends on the dimensions you enter and the quality of the AR placement environment. For best results, use accurate artwork dimensions and a well-lit room.

Can I use Showcase for commissions?

Yes. Showcase can help artists and clients discuss scale and placement before a commissioned piece is completed or installed.

Can galleries use Showcase with collectors?

Yes. Showcase is especially useful when a collector wants to understand how a work will feel in a specific room before shipping or installation.

Does Showcase replace mockups?

Not always, but it can reduce the need for manual static mockups by giving buyers an interactive way to understand scale and presence.

Does Showcase work offline?

Core local workflows are designed to work on-device, though sharing, downloading, App Store purchases, and some system services may require internet access.

Can I cancel anytime?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your Apple ID subscription settings.

Is Android supported?

Showcase is currently designed for iPhone. Broader platform support may be considered later after the iOS experience is strong.
